If you have a case that completely rests on your credibility, i.e. an affirmative defense that you shot a young Black man because he attacked you first, EVEN THOUGH there is a 911 tape of you following said youth after being told not to by the dispatcher, it would behoove you NOT to lie to the Court. It shoots that whole credibility thing to hell. What’s worse, you lied about something stupid and you were dumb enough to talk about it on a phone in jail, which ARE ALWAYS TAPPED, so they can get evidence against you. Haven’t you ever watched Law & Order?The Wire? OZ!?!?!? Hell, your dad is a fucking judge! REALLY?!

At one point in my life, I hated when people called me weird and shit for no reason, had too much to say about my li’l sound effects and whatever….but years later I finally get so say “bitch please. I’m a proud nut. Go sit in the corner and be normal, ho.” :-D I’m a seasoned ass pro at being wacky and it took forever to get this way. Ppl might not like it, but my crazy bros and sisters in the world are always welcome to my padded cell.
Life is too fucking short to spend your life worrying. I worry too much and it feels good to just DROP all that shit for a second and do the Sprinkler in my office chair for no fucking reason. It feels good to go “AWK!!” like I’m Morris Day and shuffle to my bathroom.

Laugh if you want, but I’m glad I started listening to them in high school. I was angry and depressed as fuck…typical I know, but I had nowhere to put it until I started listening to their music. I’ll put it this way—I was thinking about making a very bad choice until I hauled ass to Best Buy.
And now, I’m listening to their old stuff all over again.

I have this illness where I feel the need to write and shit.
Some ignorant fuck thought this was funny. The old comments from the page aren’t there, but as you can see….a LOT of people agreed with this. I’m offended on quite a few levels about this picture. I know, we’re in a world where things like this happen and I’m just supposed to automatically get over it but I can’t. I can’t as a woman, I can’t as a Black person, and I can’t as someone who tries her best not to say EVERY LITTLE THING that comes into my head.
Oh no, I’m not perfect with that last part. I am far from it. Lord knows it and the world knows it if they find blogs and tweets and tumbles and videos. So who am I to sit here, telling you or anyone else not to post everything that comes to their heads? Isn’t this free speech territory? Get off the soapbox, ya fat ass! I would, but this is bothering. We’re all conditional people about something.
I hate this picture because it’s ignorant. How can you compare a woman who risked her life to free other people to some fucking puppet wrapped in a blanket? Oh, okay, they look alike. Is that really supposed to be funny? All the bullshit Black women go through as it is being told we’re ugly and this and that. I mean my GOD, I can’t begin to tell you how many times anonymous assholes have come to me in the past attacking me and calling me crap like “gorilla” and telling me what animal I look like.
Call me high-strung on the comparison, but I feel like it’s a huge lack of respect. Someone had to take the time and think about this and post it. Obviously they didn’t think long and hard enough. There were no second guesses about offending people. Oh, who cares! Let’s offend everyone because it’s funny and awesome and new. Let me show how ignorant I am by taking a historical figure and spitting on her image by comparing her to a wrinkly ass alien in a milk crate on a bike.
It seems as if nobody cares anymore and nothing is sacred. People just don’t care. That goes for me too. What’s different about this? What’s different about anything? Is there something out there that bothers you like this bothers me? Maybe it’s Liberal hippies on the Internet on soapboxes. Maybe it’s naked people or thinspo. I’m pretty sure if we all sit and think and dig, we will find something that really bothers us.
This is what bothers me—a lack of respect for historical characters. REAL historical characters. I don’t care how open for satire they are, shouldn’t there be a line? Of course not, though. There are no lines and everyone’s a target.
